  ABOUT US

  History

Being first generation immigrants from China over 25 years ago, our parents started the business to service local immigrants. Throughout these years, the business evolved into something very different…. Tiffany and I had been helping out at our father’s stores at very young ages, and today, we add something “new” to Red Blossom. Our concepts and designs are very much inspired by our traditional values and rich Asian heritage, as well as today’s contemporary fashions. With every design, we want to keep the fashion chic, but at the same time keep a sense of Asian heritage within it.

  Our Designers

Renee and Tiffany Tam are the entrepreneurs and designers behind Red Blossom. They oversee the company’s product strategy and overall business development. Constantly brainstorming together and sharing new concepts, ideas and expertise, the Tam sisters personally conceive and develop all aspects of each Red Blossom product – starting from fabric and pattern design to final production. They have an exclusive network of overseas designers and manufacturers, who assist them to artfully bring together the Asian heritage and Western influences into designer items that are modern, elegant, and versatile. The Tam sisters design products that reflect the elegance of Asian culture and its fine handicrafts, while being practical and useful to their customers’ daily lifestyle. Every product has been tried and tested.

  Our Products

Our silk jacquard fabrics are entirely handmade, from mulberry cultivation to the final steps of dyeing. A lot of care is also put into the entire process to ensure consistency and high quality. Each step must be carefully monitored by artisans. Our silk brocade fabrics are also handmade. The silk and rayon are dyed to the correct color, which are then threaded to be woven into beautiful patterns. Only a limited amount of skilled artisans can make some of the vintage patterns on the fabrics. Due to the extensive process of silk production, which can take up to several weeks, slight variations in color and minor grains or color streaks in the fabric are normal.

  Our Producers

As a company that does business in Asia, we believe in providing assistance to the less privileged and protect their local communities. We work with producers that are fair trade organizations because they are fully committed to providing fair wages and good employment opportunities to the local people. They hire and train disadvantaged artisans, farmers and persons with disabilities, so that they can be skilled in their field of work. Employment programs offer above national minimum living wages and promise safe working conditions. There is no child labor -- all employees must be over 18 years old. As part of the fair trade community, our producers adhere to social criteria and environmental principles to foster a more equitable and sustainable system of production and trade that benefit people and their communities.
